    What a beauty ;)

Cracked on with the inner sill, middle sill and, you guessed it, the outer sill last night. (only doing this eves and weekends as got too much on during the day, but have run out of space to store it!)

Also got the front arch off ready for new one.

I left the original sliding door track in place as it is in good shape and cut the lower rusty stuff off and replace with new, out with the spot welder for a factory finish and voila!!

    More next week...
    5 hours of fun :)

thanks for clearing that up, my nerdism saw the door lock and petrol cap and wondered about the pre 74 roof.

  10. Nice work Karlito Have you got any pics of Grisworlds interior, I know Birdy wants some, but as a fellow sunroof owner it would be nice to see how it looks inside around the roof/up in the roof :)

  13. Did a little more on "Penny" last night, she has now crossed over into my ownership as my customer sadly couldnt continue with the mission to get her back on the road, due to personal issues.

This means i will have a new work van, but im only going to be working on it for a couple of hours each evening when i have time, so bear with me!!

    Front arch now in,

slightly off topic, but is this one of them with the spare on the front in a box? if so does it have a bigger deformation panel behind the bumper? i always wondered how they mounted i thought they recessed the bumper to sit in it.

Why did it have the hideous bull nose on it if there was no wheel behind it??

Was it used for importing people :)

  19. good progess mate, looks like you've done a good job on the front panel

  20. Cheers, front panel was a doddle as onlly one reapair to do on the inner panel which sped things up considerably.

It was the horrible nose van, they cut around 18 inches out of the deformation panel and box it in, then weld a cradle that drops the spare down through it. Then they scoop the corasponding (?) sections out of the bumper.
All i have done so far is replace the bumper and chop out the cradle, still need to sort deformation panel (anyone breaking a bay?!)

God knows why they did it, if you must put the spare on the nose, it surely is a lot easier to simpley hang it there as per every other bay window on Earth.... and it is the ugliest thing to have ever been done to em in my opinion...
