Hi...I've got the same problem with mine it's all rotten on the hinge side of the gutter but the other side is ok...was it a difficult job doing the gutter...how did u do it...do u grind it off under the lip...and do u weld the hinge supports back on...?
there's quite a gathering of Sheffield guys n gals on here now, Ive only managed to see one bay since we moved up there last November.
I waved the other day when I burnt it past the advanced engineering place on the Parkway, it was about 6.30 so you probably weren't even there
Still only half way through and Ive paused for past year as I want to get the van into my garage (which Im having built.). Its not a difficult job but it is time consuming. The gutter effectively is made up of 3 layers of metal. Ive cut any rust associated with that layer out. The gutters is fully spot welded so patience drilling out the welds is needed. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel on the section I am working on. Ill attack the other sections slightly differently.
Sad times....Ive had to put the whole can project on eBay. Was hoping to pick this up again but just not having the time.
Sorry to hear that, was just reading through your resto and looked like you were getting on top of it, been working on my resto for 6 years now and still not finished the welding, as you say its time and money.
