75 Panelvan resto

Discussion in 'Restorations' started by kank, Aug 12, 2011.

  1. Ok so I have a very rusty 75 panelvan that was converted to a camper some time ago, the years have not been very kind to the bus and it's in need of mayor repair now.

I've cut most of the rust out now and it's had metal put back in to the window areas, front has had a new clip etc side panels low panels rear floor, tubs arch work, sliding door repair etc etc and load more to do

    Loads of photos to follow...

  2. couldnt think of a better combo than a 75 panel van :)

  9. As I've now moved on the cutting out the underside I've been making an adaptor to fit my NBN chassis tilter, so I should be able to flip the van soon.

Loads more to do lots of rust hidden away all over the van also a few old repairs to remove and reweld.

  10. Oh and I have to remove the cargo floor as most of the top hats/ jacking poing and out riggers are shot ::)

  11. have to hand it to ye tidy work very neat 8) owen nw

  12. great to see another thread re posted :)

good on ya for turning it back to a panel van

have some K+ to keep you going

  13. Doing a great job M8, nice to see its going back as a panel van.

  14. Well after thinking long and hard (you have no idea how hard it was) I have put prototype bay panels on the front of the van

ONLY so I can get on with the rest of the front end as I've got to replace the lower A pillars and steps then put the tubs in etc etc
I'm not going to weld up the indecators tho it'll remain a late bay and once I can get the front bumper panel I will weld that on top and refit a my late front bumper!

Are you keeping the pop top?

  16. I'm not sure, I'd like a full ragtop put in but the poptop is 100% mint and complete altho I would have to redo the sides as it won't match the new colour.

  17. On behalf of myself and BigRich, welcome to the defenestration club :) Good work!

  18. Man you guys do some serious rust work over there
    Great work man very motivating

  19. Cheers guys O:)

Before I weld on the inner and outer front panel I'll be getting the van on my chassis turner and sorting out the underside the easy way. I hate welding on my back >:D
