'75 2.0 tintop camper resto

  1. I have started to make a list of things to do. As expected there was more rust than I have hoped.

    The sills will have to be replaces and also many lower body panels. But the rest of the bottum looks great and will not need any work at all!

    The beams are rusted, but can they be saved?

    Also the y-piece that collects the tubes from the heat exchangers will need replacing, but I can't seem to find replacments??
     
  2. Front beam and the rear one - is that not called the rear beam? Rear axle perhaps?
     
  3. It's normally called the rear torsion tube but it doesn't matter to me. The bit with the hole is the chassis that surrounds it.
    Yes it can be repaired but it will probably make you swear when you do it. Unless you have removed your floor.

    You may be lucky and only have rot in the underside but you won't know that until you start blasting at that rust.
    The front you can remove to weld if necessary

    Needs to be a decent weld though.
