Came on here a while back and then forgot all about it.Just got back on with my new password after hours of trying to remember my old one(past 40 now so the brains going!!!) After many hours of cutting out rust, grinding ,swearing ,welding ,filling, cutting myself to shreds with power tools,i am finally getting somewhere.just got the drivers side cab door to finish and a bit on the drivers side rear corner.Engine bay is painted and engine is back in.I haven't done anything to the engine as i am going to work on that when it is back on the road.Been in the family from new this one so it's only got two names on the log book and mine is one of them.Named it "mac " after my wife's late grandad who bought it new in march 73 .he traded in an old ford zephyr for it and spent many years trundling up and down the country in it on family trips until he gave up driving due to ill health.I have had it ever since. Can't wait to get it finished and actually use it again.
on the outside yes, keeping the original wheels and hubcaps, they are painted ones being a van.i can't decide if i should lower it an inch or two as it does sit a bit high up being a commercial ,you could camp in the space between the wheel and the arch.
cheers,it didn't look that good a few months back,i am going to put some photo's on during the weldathon. i've got a good one somewhere showing where i fitted a lower rear corner but cut too much off so i had to weld a strip back in.Lesson there is measure it, measure it again and then measure it again!!!
