If the back wheels were spinning how did it get up the hill? I know bays are quite capable in 2wd form over rough terrain but im pretty sure 2wd would have got stuck
cool though, shame they are worth to much money these days to have a play like that, maybe i should get down the local marlpit
VW only made prototype 4WD (syncro's) in Germany in 1975-1979 they never went to production the very small number that still survive are pretty much museum pieces. Cool though!
see my other post dude titled this one is 4wd Wouldent it be awesome if vw brazil had a production run of 4wd dubs just for them
didnt see anything extraordinarily off-roadee there. mines getting to rickety to chance on the more extreme terrain. Id be leaving a trail of oxidised bodywork along the route I think!
Its just a 2wd bus. No front diff: T25 syncro running gear can be made to fit a bay. Its just modifying the front hubs/spindles for the drive shafts that make it difficult. The only reason the factory prototypes didn't do into production was because the T25 was coming along. It look them another 6 years to make the syncro version though.
thats why a standard suspension set up is better than lowered , these things are great of road ie 2 wheel drive , have a look at the vw 181 like mine 2 wheel drive compared to the £40k landy , SCHOCKING the landy is a disaster in4 wheel drive , but its also down to the type of tyres you wear owen nw enjoy , lady driver is the german top gear presenter D MOTOR - VW Kübelwagen vs. Landrover Discovery
That discovery was struggling because it has low profile tyres on alloy rims If it was fitted with smaller wheels and large profile mud tyres it would have got through no problem at all
