MOT Hydro carbons emissions at 12000 which is 10800 over the allowed level. The guy tried to sort it but one carb was unresponsive to the change, and the other he thinks is only using.one cylinder. FML So tomorrow I need to get it compression tested, and then I don't know what else. Read somewhere that it could be the jets. There is a mixture screw with a plastic knurled cap to turn it with, at the bottom of the tower and he was adjusting those. Anyone got any advice? I will be scouring the net for info tonight. Got 9 days left on the re test then it's another 45 quid for test.
PROBABLY .......... shouldn`t be subject to an emissions test , just a visual for excessive smoke . Depends on the year though although i`ve yet to see a T2 be tested on the machine ...
MOT's can be a nightmare on these old buses, Younger testers and even the chain MOT stations are usually a no no, try and go somewhere that understands the vehicle a bit more or if possible a mate
Take it to a small place which only does MOT's. I did and mine passed. The one man places don't want to be bothered with re tests.
there is one place i could go. But i dont like them. Can another MOT centre do the fails list retest for you?
No Idea but I don't like the one I used to take mine to who thinks I'm his mate Since I moved I now go to a really old bloke near me who's semi retired and nearly blind, I think @sANDYbAY wants his number
Pamplemousse is a '76 2ltr t4, and that gets tested. Check your manifold vacuum elbows, and all other vacuum joints, as if they are perished , then the carbs may be tuned badly (rich) in order to get it to run correctly with a lean mix.
Not Possible in Northern Ireland. All mots are done at a few government run sites I'm not looking forward to trying to get my 76 through the emissions test when/if I ever get it on the road!
