  1. Anybody done this recently?
Are all kits about the same or are there ones to avoid?
They all look similar in the little cutesy pictures but .....

  2. Easy as ....
I just bought a kit from ebay , did the spindles as well .
On stripping i found the accalerator pump diaphragm had perished , hence the bad pick up from tickover - sorted ...

    :hattip:

  3. I read on here those spindle bushes are guff and dont fit?

  4. Mine were tight and a bit fiddly but dressed the spindle with some emery and the job is indeed ....... a cooky.
I never expect anything to fit `out the box ` anyway ...

    :hattip:

  5. As easy as washing your bottom. Get an exploded pic of the internet, buy a decent gasket set (although you may not need it), equip yourself with a can of carb cleaner and an air duster, then take it to bits. All jets out (including the aux idle who lives down a hole), good clean and blow through. Might need to change bushes, but you may not.

    Easy peasy...

I keep my working 34 PICT3 in a cardboard box in the garage and use it to threaten the progressive with replacement when that messes around.

  7. Never had that prob. If you've got steel spindle bushes in the carb, don't even consider changing them - you'll wreck the carb body. Black nylon ones you can fish out with a pin. You could even wear black nylons while doing it

  8. You need a pair of Dellortos to really frighten it...

  9. The problem I had was that the screws holding the butterfly in the spindle were seized and I pressed too hard trying to undo them which slightly bent the spindle meaning it wouldn't run true in the bushes. I also noticed that the bushes rotated in the carb body so needed to be loctited in.

  10. They can be little beggars. If you've got the nylon bushes, no need to take the spindle out at all

  11. would need to look and see what type of bush i have, but ill be sure to wear my wifes black nylon panties while i do

  12. Nylon? Do they not chafe?

  13. no but i get some good fireworks emerging from the groinal regionals..........hhhssss ssssss static baby

  14. I remove the metal ones with no damage to the carb body at all:)

  15. You do to dress it off with some fine emery and to alow you to loctite the bushes in as they spin in the carb body otherwise
