34 PICT/3 air correction jet size

  1. What started as a simple carb clean has turned in to a full-blown rebuild, complete with new bushings to replace the very leaky plastic originals. Anyway, I was checking the jet sizes and two things came up: one is that the main jet is an x125, which is a tad small; the other is this:

    That's the air correction jet.

My question is this: is there any good reason that the air correction jet would be so small -- half the standard bore? This means I'm running crazy rich on the highway, right?

  2. Not necessarily depends on year and carb.

  3. From memory, 125.5 is the standard main size, 60 air correction.

  4. Cool. Thanks for the info, guys!

  5. Worth checking how thick your top cover gasket is, if you used one from a rebuild kit.

  6. I am using it. What's the issue? Too thick?

  7. N'mind. Answered my own question. Off to buy some 0.4mm gasket stock.

  8. If you get the German refurb kits from Machine 7, they have cover gaskets that are the proper 0.4/0.5mm thick. Only ones I’ve found. Or...easy enough to make your own.
