34 PDSIT-2/3 Idle Mixture Enrichment Module

Hi Folks,

As per attached pic, went to the van tonite to remove leisure battery and found that the wire to the idle mix enrichment has broken off beyond repair (note pic is from a previous post on here not mine just shows the unit clearly) . question is, what are the pitfalls of running without this and anyone know where I can get a replacement module?

i have some carbs for spares, i dont think you can buy them new, not 100% on effects but i think rough rnning at idle and cutting out once warmed up

 

My bus was a real pain to start and idle and found that the wire on mine snapped off at the week end @davidoft do you have a spare idle mixture enrichment module you could sell?
1800cc type 4

 

Have you considered filing the black plastic insulator down a bit to expose the metal inside. Maybe you can solder a tab or a wire on?

 

The wire hasn't broken on mine but the inside has burnt out and I think it has been like that since I got it, my engine runs really fast on initial start up but ticks over nicely when warm but don't think it has anything to do the idle mixture enrichment (I have asked for help about this on another thread, waiting on a tacho coming to check the revs) Sorry, going slightly off subject,basically mine seems to run ok without the idle mixture enrichment unit. If anyone does have some to sell I might take one. Mines a 2000cc type 4.

 

The black plastic holder thing has completely fallen out! not sure if i can dismantle it and re solder?

Have a word with @Top Banana Racing , i have a large crate here of Solex carbs that belong to him, pretty sure there must be one in there

 

What happened to your No. 29? It looks to have been replaced with a jet.

The box is full of bits, mine and @davidoft's I suspect there will be one in there.

 

I'm pretty certain there 2 or 3 in the box of bit

 

He'll mate. Did you get this sorted, I think I blew my idle enrichment module. Now have trouble starting and cuts out. My wires burnt leading to the module, problems since then!
