20,000 days on earth

  1. I agree with the guys who think you are ready for a big trip. Can you get the time to do something like that? So big a trip that you almost divide your life between the before and after. This slows everything down and allows you to really take stock and find what's important to you.

At my age I can fall our with meself.
Imagine the carnage of a mass of disillusioned souls on a road trip to nirvana.

"Shall we look for enlightenment in this field"?
"Nah, it's not close enough to the pub."
"Nah, there's too much shade for my solar panels"
"yeah!, I wanna do an oil change"
"oh you shouldn't use that oil"
"well sod the lot of you, I'm off on my own"
    "yeah, so am I"
"see you at the next pub then"
    "yeah, OK"!

If we tie all our vans together it won't matter of one or two brake down

  6. I've already started planning my big trip, going to buy a boat and take it all round the UK. I reckon I'm going to need to have at least six weeks to 3 months. Hopefully my son will come with me for a large part of it. All I need now is the money

  7. I live next to the old and large Borough cemetery and crematorium and front bedroom looks out across the old gravestones. Each day I see the funerals and its all a reminder to live life and enjoy it. Forget the money and the stress and all the crap, just be happy to still be here.

The cemetery has graves for rich and poor and the rich have their big expensive stones, but we end up in the same place as equals.

I refuse to believe you are younger than me! :(

I calculated that I have done 2 million miles truck driving in 35 years. That is over 90 times around the world.

I calculated it on doing only 350 miles a day for 25 years of 225 working days in each year ( Holidays and weekends ) and adding a few miles for the distance stuff and overtime days. In reality I could probably add another half a million to that total. :hattip:
