1979 'Devon' For Sale

Discussion in 'Late Bay Classifieds' started by Voog, Jan 19, 2012.

  1. Time has come to move my Bay on to a new owner.

    Engine/Gearbox etc

1979 with Laurie Pettit built 1600, twin 36 Dellortos pulls nicely and the Dells give it a little more MPG and a bit more grunt
    Electronic Ignition
    Oil temp gauge
    Scat shifter
Gearbox is sound with no jumping etc and all gears engage perfectly
    Stainless steel Just Kampers exhaust
    Lowered front and rear
    Empi 5 spokes

    Cab Area

    Porsche seats (nice and comfy)
Sony head unit with iPod connectivity. Infinity speakers in front kick panels, Focus speakers in bed base unit (can be swapped for other units with any price negotiation!)
Brand new (still in box) JustKampers under dash tray
    Just Kampers steering wheel clock

    Outside

Bodywork is lovely with no dents etc. Nice n straight
Underneath is sound with no welding required, MOT guy commented that it was “very nice” MOT is March I think but will need to check this later.
Previous owner had this bus restored around 5 years ago and it was done well by Bus and Beetle Depot in Nottingham and Paul there has a good reputation amongst the Nottingham VW crowd

    Camping interior

    Devon interior
Side cabinet currently has a Waeco fridge fitted but this is brand new and will be removed (negotiable on price). Door will be replaced as in pictures
Twin bunks in top which are in good condition and great for kids or additional storage when camping if you’ve got no kids!
240v RCD electric hook up with socket outlet in bed base and side cupboard (also charges leisure battery whilst on hook up)
85A leisure battery with ‘intelligent’ split charge system
    Leisure battery monitor
    ¾ Rock and roll bed
Cushions in pictures have covers (orangey pattern) which were coming apart at the seams and have now been removed. Cushions are now a dark grey material (will get some more pictures this weekend)
    No rips tears/etc in poptop
12v sockets in glove box, rear cabinet
    Propex 1600 heater

    Additional bits

Have 2 rust free genuine heat exchangers shot blasted and ready to paint to replace the pattern ones currently fitted
Have the sink from the side cupboard but I removed this as this the most useless item in a camper I think and takes up valuable storage space. Easy fit to put back though
Have a wood slat roof rack which was powder coated so like new. (Doesn’t fit in my garage with it fitted so removed)
Also have a few other gauges etc I was going to fit (off top of my head) RPM, clock, Oil Pressure
Have some stainless steel window deflectors which I have not got round to fitting
JK Thermal mats - all can be negotiated

Basically a much loved camper ready to hop in and use spring/summer.
Selling only because I’m getting old and need something more economical for camping trips (probably a T4)

I am looking at 10.5k but am pretty flexible on price so offers are acceptable but nothing stupid please, I don’t need to sell but the garage space would be useful!!

07516035926 after 7pm weekdays, anytime weekends.
