FOR SALE 1974 ;-) pop top camper RHD reduced again £6500

Discussion in 'Late Bay Classifieds' started by 65deluxe, Nov 20, 2013.

  1. Hi Folks ,
Im selling this on behalf of a friend so if you have any questions please just ask and I can check with him .

This is an M reg late bay , It was purchased a number of years ago and has now got to go due to ill health .

The vehicle is a UK supplied RHD , it is a pop top with the straight up pop top as shown in the pictures .

The overall condition is very good and it has had a very thorough restoration prior to my friends purchase and would give many years pleasure with nothing but routine servicing.

Worth mentioning that its based on a factory Kombi , so no dodgy cut out windows and resulting leaks .

The interior has 2 original seats which have been re covered in blue to match the outside , as have the front door cards - The rear has just a 3/4 rock and roll bed which is a proper brought one rather than being cobbled together . The covers for the rear seat / bed do not match the front but would give you the scope to put your mark on it .

The engine is a reconditioned one and currently runs great with aftermarket twin carbs . but they are sensible and do not over fuel it , There is a bugpack dual quiet pack exhaust . Other wise the running gear is stock .

The bus is a desirable walkthrough so you wont get wet as you park up for the night .

There are a set of recent empi 5 style alloys and all the tyres show very little sign of use .

The vehicle will come with 12 months MOT and Road fund licence and is completely ready to go .

  6. My 73 has a filler flap and key barrel in handle, it could be late 73 and one of the first like that.

  9. It would be interesting to know the manufacture month as mine is a march 73 with filler flap, and if morks is a 73 with screw filler they changed at some point, I was always under the impression this changed in 74. Learn something new everyday!!

I think, looking at whats been posted on here image wise & the comments made, it took pretty much most of the m reg year - possibly building the old flap style bodyshells early M and transitioning into the cap style shells later on in the M reg year with them overlapping throughout as stock changed?
