  1. Welcome to the sale of 'Lillie' my Late bay Devon all round pop top campervan

would swap for a good 60s Bug or Karmann Ghia (don't ask don't get ;) )

    £9000 ono

I've owned her since Feb 2014 and covered about 5000 miles in her this summer, only selling due to other projects that need finishing! so what are you buying? she has a 1.6 stock twin port engine (not original) , this engine is very strong and has a 32/36 progressive weber carb which has been tuned to run so smoothly, getting on a run between 27-30mpg (that is good for a bus). recently serviced, new dizzy, rotor arm, leads, oil (changed every 3000 miles) spark plugs and various wiring. RHD of course.
up front she has clear indicator lens fitted brand new spare wheel with cover (tyre also new) inside - aftermarket seats which came with her they are adjustable and comfy for driving, original steering wheel and a nice head unit JVC Bluetooth cd player radio and 4 275 watt speakers in front and back (great bass for driving not to much! ) all lights work and so do the wipers (2 speed standard setting) electric water sprayer located under steering wheel. side lights, dip and main beam all work lovely. the dash lights are no wired up and never have been, it wouldn't be a hard job mind. there is 2 horns fitted to her (1 standard and 1 air horn) black carpets up front in good condition and green pattern in the rear. she has westfalia seat covers currently but these can easily be swapped if necessary.
drive quality is good , smooth gear change (no knocks or grinding from clutch) she cruises at 60-65 but will do upwards of 70 (you shouldn't push an aircooled engine any harder). good brakes and tyres fitted. discs and pads up front and drums on the rear with stock 14 inch wheels. green hub caps.
interior consists of a 12v interior lamp for night time, 240v hook up for fridge ( will also run on DC) gas cooker 2 hob burner and grill and sink. an underneath cupboard and under rear seat storage. plenty of room. green and white curtains all round with lining.
sliding door runs well and all other doors close and open smoothly. the front passenger door could do with a new plate welding because the inner skin is a little rotton but its never leaked and never been an issue . this bus also comes with rare sunroof. mostly original windows and boot lid. she used to be sumutra green but previous owner resprayed her about 7 years ago. POP TOP doesn't leak and is in good useable condition. always good for camping with 3 foot of extra headroom. Fold out rock n roll 3/4 size bed excellent for camping.
a fair bit of history of last 20 years , old MOTs, and servicing's etc .
I have has the engine out this year and redone a few seals round the engine as they were perished. the rear offside cv boots have also just been done last month. she sailed through her MOT in Feb this year.
a few areas need attention including a few bubbling paint patches but its only very minor, could do with passenger door patching up as mentioned, but a really good all round bus for camping and traveling. will be sad to see her go but needs must, know is a good time to purchase if you have been thinking of getting a camper as the winter months are good to fix them up ready for 2015 show season!

  2. What a beautiful camper!

Unfortunately I'm not in a position to buy until March but if its still for sale then (I know how massively unlikely that is) I'll definitely be interested.

Thank you for showing us these amazing photos.

Happy new year when it comes from the Highlands of Scotland!
