ok guys, i completely forgot to put my resto thread back on after the epic crash a couple of months ago so here are a load of pics of the journey i'v been on to date. i will let the pictures do the talking : 1972 microbus shell... oil tank for porsche engine: rolled the bus stripped and 3 coats of primer: 2 coats of stonechip: aux oil cooler+fan and thermostat for engine: fuel pump,filter and accumulator mounted above gearbox: engine and modded bumper trial fit fits nicely: custom tinware to minimise cutting of engine bay:
Bus to bodyshop.... no filler found when baremetalled: custom dash for porsche clocks: future proofing by adding tubs: tubs all in: PAINT!!!!!!!! the roof (looks a bit dusty. again still needs to be flatted and polished)
that is one sick puppy dude...a big well done, if there is one finished resto project I want to see, this is the one!
ye horts base don dormobile. however, it will be a full width bed and has full width storage over the engine bay. all will become clear as things progress

looks like an expensive resto or are you a skilled fella? i could build an interior like that but when it comes to engines im know nothing. Piantjob looks great too, hope i can pull off my PJ with as much swagger as thaat one. Excellent work mate. Phil
Top job going on there, Paint looks like Neptune Blue? Its the colour I'm thinking of painting mine. Looking forward to seeing some more updates on this.
certainly is neptune blue. looks like loads of different blue shades in different photos. depending on light levels and whether the photo is taken with camera or phone. the roof is VW black. an optional extra in 1971. i know its a 72 bus, but close
