1964 Lambretta LI150

  1. Maybe one for @Dicky or some other knowledgable folks.
Last year my brother borrowed some money off my Mum & bought himself a Lambretta scooter, sadly our Phil passed away earlier this year before he could pay her back & the scooter is just sat there doing nothing, so very kindly my Mum is giving it to me for our eldest to get to college etc. I’m not very au fait with bikes but intend to give it some use as I’ve always fancied myself as a Mod.... My question is this.... Is there anything I need to know as all I do know is that it’s yellow & 150cc?

  3. They're highly cool and very desirable , unfortunately or not it will attract lots of attention and a college car park won't be secure enough to deter the scrotes....
I fully understand the reasons behind the generous offer but my advice would be to stash it the garage and save it for fun adventures...

Just my tuppenceworth, I have a low opinion with regards to certain aspects of today's society and always expect the worst in a case like this ....

  5. Has he passed his test. If not, he can only ride up to 125cc. Lambretta club is a useful place for info/advice, so is the WKFA scooter club forum.

  6. Do you mean a fish tail parker? Apparently there’s a Harrington jacket coming with it as well as an open faced helmet & leather gloves. Also I’ve already saved a green flying jacket to my watch list. I don’t have it yet & my mum will stash it in her garage for now so no pics available. @Lasty the eldest won’t be getting his hands on it until he can pass a test & security measures will be impressed upon him greatly but I certainly understand where you are coming from, the problem he will have or WE will have is finding someone to teach a Deaf kid to ride it!

  7. I would tend to agree @Lasty, it's not really a daily driver. Sell it and get a twist and go for your lad. Or, keep it for best :)

I must admit to having fallen off mine pretty regularly. I’d maybe look for something a bit easier to ride.

They don’t go around corners very well.

  17. You lot clearly can not be trusted to ride scooters, it really needs to go to me.I once went to a jumble sale on my tv200 and came away with a massive valve radio and several carrier bags of groovy clothing. Bungee strapped everything to my ride and got home in one piece albeit a bit wobbly

  18. I think that Dicky Matey knows about hair driers ... I think :D
