1960 MGA 1600 Roadster....

  1. Always loved the shape of these little cars, and was fortunate to find a decent original RHD one a couple of years ago..... Every mile is an adventure, every drive is an event, no synchro between 1 & 2 which makes you think, feet too fat for the pedals, but it pulls like a train and it delivers more smiles per mile than any other car I have ever owned.... It simply loves the twisty country roads around here, and it always gives me something to do fettle with on those wet and windy days through the winter....

    Nice.
    I used to have a 1958 Mk.1 1500.

  3. You lucky thing! I adore MG's and the MGA is the prettiest of the lot. I sold an AH Sprite to buy my bay and what you say about lack of synchro and country lanes made me think of it. Great fun.

  5. Lovely car. Enjoy.

  6. beautiful looking car

would it have had those indicators as standard or are they a later addition?

  7. Hi rob.e

The indicators are absolutely original for the Mark I 1600, but they changed to ugly ones (imho) to be like the Mini side-by-side clusters on the rear body rather than the wings.... Don't look half as nice as these.....

    All the best

don't know much about these and never seen that type before - there's one local to me that has some like this (pic from google) ie a bit like an early spitfire:

  9. My next MG I hope. Had my 75 Midget now for 5 months (alas plastic bumper) but a Californain spec and only 30.000 miles

  10. 1500 from 1955 to 59 had the single tail lamp/indicator combined - flashing red light not a good idea these days - many have been converted to 1600 twin lamps, but many purists hate the 1600 double lamp plinth - I think it looks better - the same lamp lens was used on many BL cars - eg Spitfire and TR3 etc.
