There is a 40's weekend on this weekend near me , might pop down Saturday to have a gander
The station even had it's own General waiting room! Looks like a good turn out....
Its every year .If you go as a re enactor you get free tickets It was £18 this year ,thats for unlimited travel on the train , various things are going on at different stations , my mate mark runs the Chester home gaurd re enactment group and he kitted us out , it was a real eye opener ,a couple actually got married 1940s style in the church in Ramsbottom
Will look out for it next year as its around my birthday and my mum lives just up the road!

No Nazi regalia yet you can dress as a comedy Gestapo officer! Ah well - its a fine line.
And this http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...azi-uniforms-wartime-weekend-military-7149245
There were plenty of German uniforms about there was even a battle on the station at Ramsbottom , but ss uniforms are not welcome
This looks good might pop over for a mooch with the kids on sunday
the 7 valley do it better.
Have you seen this Bob @sANDYbAY
No, I didn't even know that that hall in Holme existed. We have a 40's weekend every year in Ramsey. They're good fun but after a couple of years they all get very samey. You could probably walk to that one in Holme, are you going?
