Hi John. I have a pair of square port heads with 41/34mm valves. £250 for the pair delivered. They came off a 2ltr but will fit and do have the bigger 1.8ltr type valves.
But the 1700 has oval ports so he’d need new heat exchangers and the cylinder register diameter is too big. EDIT Oval port heat exchangers could probably be made to fit square port heads by cutting the extension off and facing the flanges – bit drastic though.
What the OP could do is upgrade to 1.8 (or even 1.9) B&Ps then your 2.0l heads will fit. But he’d still need new heat exchangers or modify the oval port ones. I’m surprised you haven’t sold the heads – what’s wrong with them? Somebody with a 1.8 or 2.0 must want big valve heads. Somebody (like me) might even be interested in just the valves, are they new?
Not new but good nick. I only get them here next weekend so haven't photographed them yet. Will be pick up all the bits I didn't use for my engine build and posting a for sale ad then. I didn't use these heads because I used the oval port pair to match my heat exchangers.
