  1. Taken my pump off to inspect it, make sure its not disintegrating as zed suggested
All looks OK to me but could the experts cast an eye......
This is the variety, can't seem to open the top part so I assume its not serviceable??

Pressing the cam (?) On bottom seems to operate the pump OK.

Think o read somewhere that if diaphragm in top is split, it can let fuel through , and flood the carb?

  2. the pump will never flood the carbe...

Pump the bottom thing and put your tongue on one of the pipes to see how much suction there is...

  3. Was just to check it not falling to bits, so sending bits of debris to carb....
Is a wife's tongue OK for that trick ?!

  4. Looks ok to me. Not servicable. Stick it back on, then check your float valve ;).

  7. it's still floating...:p

  8. Fill the bottom of the pump with grease before you stick it back on

  9. it makes a sound like Dick Emery if it's working properly....youngsters may have to Google....;)

The only thing you can do is make sure the pivot pin is really engaged both sides evenly and not sticking out the side of the pump.
Dont forget : In on top out on bottom.
If working well it will really suck hard.
