At least they aren't charging you for their time.

    Back to square one then.

    Someone must live near Dinky?

You're going to have to mend it yourself with our help. You know what they say - if you want it done properly do it yourself.:)

Ignore the red circle from earlier.
In the green one is the brake servo vacuum pipe. The engine sucks to provide a vacuum. If the pipe is split anywhere - including where it carries on the other side of the tinware in the photo, your engine will stall when you come to a halt using the brakes, but it'll tick over fine otherwise.
If you're in the mood, start her up, get underneath and listen for a hiss coming from the pipe. A piece of garden hose to use as a stethoscope will help you work your way along the pipe including in the engine bay. If you're not in the mood, or it's been raining, use your charms to attract a trustworthy volunteer.:)

I'm not on-line in daylight hours, but Para and the boys will help you. :)
We'll just try things things one at a time.
It's helpful to know your bug friend will have done all the usual suspects and that you know what you're looking at/have spanners ready. :)
Next perhaps will be idle mixture. Has it got a recent MOT?

  16. Dinky im a house husband so like you have the madness of looking after the kids and having little time

Im also rubbish at meeting new people and answering the phone aswell

If i can work out a day where i can make it down then ill be happy to work through a checklist the guys on here have drawn up

I dont know how were both going to get over the meeting new people anxiety but im sure if the kettle goes on it will help

I live amid the debris from the implosion of a disfunctional family. I'm really shy too - can I come? If it's still broken in the spring, I'll be up that way. :)

  18. Zed move up north it will make our life easier

  20. If the garage man has no clue [assuming he knows what engines sound like and he has done all the checks like blocking off servo etc]I would be tempted to look on club 80-90 for a newish carbe or rebuild the old one ,these carbs are quite dodgy...
