re-covering the dash padded rail?

  1. Ok so the long padded dash rail thing and the grab handle...
Has anyone ever re-covered one with vinyl? Is this even possible?

I've seen people with coloured ones, is this just paint or re-covering?

    Any ideas? @delilah maybe?

  2. Would think it's possible, I covered two arm rests made from the same material as the padded dash bar in scrim foamed vinyl.

  3. I did mine with a Vinyl spray paint off Ebay

  4. Do you mean vinyl wrap? Spray it on but can peel it off? @carlperkins001 Vinyl dash covers available on Ebay for the whole dash so can be done if that answers your question?

  5. Nah not really looking at sprays.
It's literally just the thin padded bar between the dash front and the dash top. I'd like to recover it in orange vinyl to match my seats, but not sure if it can be done.

Got any pics of yours @Keith.H ?

  6. I was asking @Keith.H about the spray, anyway I'm sure it can be done. I may have a go at it if I can find the time & spare fabric.

  7. Ahh sorry, i just changed the colour, repaired a crack with some Vinyl seat repair stuff then sprayed it.

  8. Hi i had a small crack by the grab handle on mine i took the rail off and the grab handle filled the crack with viynl weld resin, rubbed it back with sandpaper
then sprayed the vinyl to match the outside of my van, amazing result as i was going to buy one to start with.
