  1. You can move the center crank a good 5mil either way and up and down ,I could not get it off so had to live with it...

I am thinking I need a special tool?

  2. You need a little puller to get them off. These are fine. I bought one and used it a lot before I finally broke it.

If it's wobbly you probably need a new crank.

  3. I agree that Park tools are good, but a basic crank puller is fine for most people IMO. Also there are other makes that are good, Cyclus stuff is impressive and quite a bit less money for example.

The Park crank puller is £15 so you can afford to buy the one linked to 4 times. :D I would never have broken the one I bought in normal home use - it was seeing daily workshop use and abuse and still lasted over a year. It would last most cyclists a lifetime.

This is my favourite Park tool. Everyone should have one of these. Looks like a cheap multi-tool but it's really well made. Nine times out of ten I'd go for this rather than fiddling about with individual allen keys: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/...gclid=CNuLpICZ8sYCFTGWtAodJIEOBw&gclsrc=aw.ds

  4. That might be the case but I have changed the bottom bracket and cranks numerous times on my hard tail over the past 14 years so I am quite happy that I have had my monies worth, mind with changes to external bottom brackets then it might become obsolete. Park allen keys ... I think I have two or three sets of those ... good bits of kit

  5. Obsolete, no. People will always be riding old bikes. My bikesmith cotter pin press is one of the most useful tools I own... and cotter pins died out in the 80s... External BBs are definitely a good idea though.

This guy makes really nice tools. :)

  6. Hmm maybe post a pic. Although if my plans work out I'm going to be away from the internet for a few weeks as of tomorrow afternoon... I'm sure @Pickles or someone else will be able to advise if I can't.

  9. Hey..LEF...are you sure you don't drive up those cols ,open the sliding door, whip out the bike and take a quick pic and bugger off?Your bike is starting to look like one of those stolen garden gnomes that go on tour with happy snaps sent home to the former owners!☺

  18. You appear to have lost the engine in your bike, I shall remedy this upon my arrival and fit a Gixer thou, much easier on the hill climbs. :)
