Just seen this on Facebook - no connection to me, but thought I'd share as a fellow purple bus owner. Edit: looking at the pictures again, it might be blue rather than purple - not sure with the lighting.... "Our campervan has been stolen from outside our house. Please share and let us know where it is. It doesn't even start, so would be on a flatbed truck or towed. Reg: JYF249K. Report to police if seen. Thank you."
On the other hand if it wasn't running the thieves might have done them a favour... There seem to be a lot of busses going missing in the smoke. Perhaps it's time I adjusted my agreed value.
If you are on facebook with them and can contact them - tell them to ask up and down the road, all the neighbours if they saw anything - print flyers and put them on windscreens as commuters park all over the place and might have seen anything. Also check garages and shops with external CCTV on the routes out of the street - the police don't have the resources to chase this down - if they want it back they can be proactive. Drive all the major routes out of the vicinity and see what cctv cameras on the roads and see if you can request access if they are council run. Also - when and where was it taken from?! @Mrs Moosey - appreciate you are just being helpful - but if you can relay the above, as I always harp on about, they have a chance of recovering it!
A bit more info from their FB page - it was stolen last night between 10pm and 7am and 3 others were also stolen form within a 3 mile radius. I'll post again if I hear anything back from them.
will look out in Southend area for the Cadbury colour. Was this the only bus stolen or was three other vw bus's stolen in the 3 mile radius?
