Im just wondering ,how much more the empty bus shell on axle stands can take before it falls to mother earth
Yay, excellent! God mine looks tatty, ha ha. I would just like to point out that under the gaffer taped bin liner, I've just filled a bad weld and primed it, but not top coated it yet.
If you can make it to techenders hun Ill spend the weekend filling and painting your van with you I like doing this sort of thing and it would make a great slideshow or vid of what can be achieved over two days in a field I watched that vid row posted My first thought was how cool it is to see aircooled dubs amongst modern traffic they stand out like a sore thumb and i like that Then i saw what i didnt realise at the time was yours and rows vans I thought hell yeah theres old school dubbing Not a show winner but out there and building memories
Oh you! That's a lovely offer, thank you. I am actually tempted because there are a few things I really don't know the best way to do it. Like the sliding door, I don't know if I can fill it or if it needs welding. I think the window needs to come out either way. And it's questions like that, that you really need to see in the flesh to be able to answer. I'm meant to be getting it lowered beginning of that week, but I will give it some serious thought about coming. I'm sure I can get it lowered the week after. Thanks again, I really appreciate it, as I'm bumbling my way through this and need all the advice I can get! Yep, Row painted her bus herself as well. I think ours were the only ones that weren't shiny showroom vans.
Lowering in my opinion is best done after other problems are sorted im not against it im just the freak that wants to lift my van Come along hun and if its any use to you its my first techenders aswell I meant what i said though
It's all cosmetic work that needs doing, and I'd rather get it lowered before I paint the main body area... otherwise it's just asking to be scratched! I've just googled the site and it's only about 3 hours for me, I thought it was further. Mmm, I shall give this serious consideration.
Its a long drive from me up north and im a bit apprehensive about it but then again im a born worrier Im looking forward to it though In all honesty though id be very happy sorting the cosmetics on your bus with a drink in hand and the occasional smoke It would keep me away from the mucky engine stuff
I'm sure there's nothing to be apprehensive about. I guess I could worry if the bus will get me there; I haven't done a long journey yet. But I have 2 lots of breakdown cover so no need to worry even if it does happen. There's probably not a ton of stuff I can do there (obviously can't start any top coat) but it's more that I have a thousand questions about the best way to do something. There's painting the interior that can be done though. I've already primed most of it. Having a drink and a smoke though, I'm good at that. I'll try not to be too good at it though or I won't get anything done.
It's not that amazing I'm afraid. Just a few old vans and modern cars pulling out of a car park, with a bit of Norfolk commentary. I'm not doing doughnuts or anything.
Love it cold the next day either the runny or solid/slab. Yum yum . sadly the peasants out here don't know real custard.
