We stopped here last weekend for our last trip out before we take the van off the road for an above the swage line resto.

Run by a very friendly couple Wendy and Morris. It's on top of a hill with fantastic views across the valley.

As for facilities it's not overrun with them, one (indoor) toilet and one (also indoor) shower. They were nice and clean and the shower was free. When we were there the site was populated by big caravans and motorhomes so we had the facilities to ourselves. There is a barn cum social area which all campers have access to.

I'd say it was a good place for someone with very small children but older kids might find it boring. Grown ups have a good choice of local pubs as well as a fish and chip shop locally.

We tend to use campsites just to camp in and Saturday we went about 5 miles down the road to ride along the grand union canal and spent a few hours at Foxton Locks. Nice cafe for coffee and cake at the top and a nice pub for beer and food at the bottom.

If you do go to Foxton locks can I recommend you park in the long stay car park @£1.50 for the day rather than the short stay one over the road @£2 for 4 hours.

After a very windy night Saturday we went off for another short trip to Market Harborough for a ride along the Brampton Valley Way which is a disused railway line between Mkt Harborough and Northampton.
