Radio supporting

  1. Looked at loose radio and it looks like it has been originally fitted with an axe ! looking at replacing but can see anywhere to support new head unit has anyone fitted a double din unit

  2. If the hole's the right size, one of the metal fixing sleeves should hold it ok (although better with a support strap on the back).

  3. Hole cut slightly to big but bottom has been bent out of shape that's why planning on fitting double din

  4. Will double DIN fit a Bay dash? Worth doing a bit of metal bashing to straighten the bottom out...

  5. You can buy radio supporting strips from most car radio places or possibly even Halfords. It is a thin steel strip that you can cut to size has plenty of holes in it and you can bend to shape. Replace the screw in the back of the ash tray with a bolt (if it not one already) and use that to fix the lower part of the strip to. Most car radios will have a bolt to fix the other end to. It is in a handy place and supports it well once you have got a nut on the back of the ash tray.
