Vw route 67 John o'groats to lands end 20-26th July 2015

Seen this on face book looks to be a few hundred Vw campers on the list so far !! I'll do 2 nd half of the route as got that week off work and can stop off on the route back at some places !! 20th July 2015 !! Something different !!

Were joining in the convoy in wales and doing the rest to lands end then having a week or so around Cornwall doing abit of surfing !!

 

First I've heard of this - looks to be good fun apart from motorways - see note later. Noted the times for sections of journey are a bit optimistic though eg Ullswater to Conway - 170 miles - 2h 45m! I live halfway between these points - would take me 2h 45 to get to either end - so double that time I would guess.
I would not be too happy covering that all on the motorways - boring as well as giving the old engine a bit of a hammering.

 

Hmmmmmm, when I suggested this earlier in the year I got shot down in flames, I am awaiting the imminent arrival of the doom and gloom brigade.

 

Somewhere on the old Facebook page was the routes mainly coastal roads and not to many motorways !! But not sure about the north part !!

 

Personally I'm probably up for it even though it's the weekend before The GREAT COTSWOLD GET TOGETHER at @Keith.H's field.

 

I'm meeting 4 other vw folk all local with t4/t25 and bay& splits for a convoy over to wales then on to the end we was gonna do Cornwall anyways what a way to get down there !!

 

I like the idea of this. Me and my partner rode it on push bikes 3 years ago so will be nice to do it with a little less effort.

 

Seems to be Worcester the meeting point buddy to head across country on the Thursday go meet the convoy in South Wales then to bude and then to land end and chill in at Ives for the week , iv book campsites all ready

 

Hope the organizers are going to notify the Breakdown services....

I no he has had to clear it with the police ect !! And only allowed so many to leave at a certain time , but the police said they can't stop people joining in along the route !! Just be a good laugh meeting new people and keeping away from scene tax ect ect

 

Just started to book the camp sites for this
Planning on heading to Aberdeen first for a few days visiting the sister in law, then join the convoy down to lands end before heading off to Portsmouth to visit friends
Be a busy week or so, but should be a right laugh and a good trip for the kids

 

I have booked the last few as meeting in wales we think ! ! But then were having a few days around lands end and were allso heading over Portsmouth for the weekend !!

 

Setting off today for Conwy, Wilma's all packed and we're ready to convoy

 

Have a blast, wish I was with you instead of sat in the office!
