SOLD - Classic Desmo Roof Rack

Classic Desmo Roof Rack. Great condition for age, some signs of weathering but otherwise in perfect working order. Currently fitted to my MK2 Golf GTI but will fit most other cars with roof gutters.

Reckon it'll fit a 73 Beetle?

 

Not sure to be honest. I'll measure the height clearance from the roof gutters to give you an idea if it'll go over the curvature of a beetle roof. The width is adjustable so you'll be OK there. If you're local to Reading, welcome to drop by and check it out

I had one of these on my mk1 caddy and I've got one on my Jetta too.... They're good and the Ali polishes up well if you can be bothered. It sits really high on my Jetta to the point where I'm gonna cut down the legs a bit so I reckon it would squeeze onto a bug roof ok

 

I'll have a measure up on my 64 bug, I could be in in this.

 

The bottom of the roof rack sits 9cm above the roof. Hope this helps

 

From the roof gutters, the legs are about 13cm in height

Just as a bit of info which may help - I have one of these on my bus, move the legs out to the outer rib and turn the clamps around and it fits straight on a tin top !

Can confirm this. I have one on my tin top too. Does a great job for my camping awning and a few bits and bobs.
Not the biggest but does a great job and easily stored in garage when not on the bus.
