People thought that about Wilma too, to give John his due he won't do patch up jobs, he says it's not worth his time or the customers money.
And hey presto ! Sometimes John posts some nice pictures up on FB - less scary ones these days now most of the holes have gone.....
It's looking good Berny -can't wait to see it finished - I am not far from 81a - just down the road in Ormskirk - where are you based? Visited them a couple of years ago when we were looking for a van - they were very helpful but were trying to persuade us to let them restore one for us that they had in even though I told them my budget was £10k - they had a nice Splitty in the workshop that they had just finished and it looked great - but wasn't convinced that they could do what they said and keep within our budget - so we passed on the offer. The one we bought has invoices from 81a for work done on gearbox and fuel system amongst other things - looks like it has been well done , but not cheap.
I'm near Macclesfield - 81a is a bit of a trip for me but they came recommended. I haven't had a bill yet but I'm not looking forward to it when it does come
My son lives in Macca - he used to commute - 100 miles a day for a year in an old Polo - never let him down - hope your bill is not too shocking!!
About 70 hours - which isn't too bad for all that work. Had an interim bill today. Paint and prep will be separate
70 hours at 40 quid isn't bad if thats what the price is even Inc vat that's not bad i reckon. Depends what the original purchase price was though I guess
