Discussion in 'Late Bay Classifieds' started by vesp, Oct 3, 2014.

  1. I have had this bus for a little over 5yrs now. I originally purchased it from Karmon Konnection as a solid dry import project. Since then many things have benn carried out, here’s a list of what I can remember.

1972 Westfalia American import prototype bay – LHD

    Body/Chassis.
The body/chassis is extremely original, I’ve had a complete documented respray (external only) and the only panels it needed were due to American accident damage which was a small section of the front panel and rear arch closing panel due to it being bent beyond repair. The decision was made to not spray the interior because it was original and good. It’s had no other panels than these and I’ve many photos of the resto.

Silicone hoses used all the way through.

    Kennady stage 1 pressure plate.

    New clutch.

1600 Gearbox has been painted black, fresh oil change.

    New urethane shift coupling.

Custom made under slung radiator, with twin golf rads and slimline fans.

Petrol tank has new sender, all the rubbers have been changed throughout (no petrol smell on corners). It’s been altered to have a flow and return for the fuel injection and AN fast flow fittings have been used right through.

    New HD battery.

    Interior.

AntiVibe Sound deadening added everywhere before interior fitted.

    Celotex insulation used throughout.

Dinitrol cavity wax completely before interior went back.
