why were the engines good for campers? different cc or better torque etc?

  2. The ones I was after were the 412ls ones. The big valve 1800 carbed jobbies

  6. Mmm...one of my 412LS Variants has an MoT at 11.30am, I should be in bed...dreaming of the pass certificate...

  7. Fecking thing, a previous owner had fitted a new blade fusebox, and apart from very little working, there's no way I'd be able to sort it or even work out what every fuse was for...anyway, done a deal, an auto electrician wanted my spare T1 Code engine for his Squareback Van Project, so its now re-wired with the fusebox from the donor car.

Even better, for the bare shell (almost) of the spare 412LS, as I'm having the engine, gearbox, glass, locks, etc, we've agreed to the Eberspacher being moved over in a working condition to my runner 412LS, once its working, the AN Code engine will be fitted as well.

The CB Code will eventually go in my Bay...and there's the oddity, a Bay CB Code engine is currently in the 412, sort of bucking the trend, I'm almost tempted to hope the Bay was scrapped, ha.
