Belt line trim

    So I got lucky at a show and found myself an original belt line trim.
    Anyone here fitted one before???

    Are you talking about the late bay trim thats inline with the handles?
    If so I took mine off, I like the early trim but I don't think it looks good on a late, I don't like the late trim, I would not drill all me big panels to fit it. It was a bugger to weld up the holes when I took the old stuff off.

    It'll fit just the same onto your late, but as Pie points out you have to drill holes all round. Plastic clips are available from VWH among others and FBI usually have a stock of used OG steel ones. Both work fine.

  9. I seem to have a section of trim that's 5mm longer than it should be,,,

  10. It's a horrible job to do. I had a microbus obsessed '71 Kombi owner a couple of years ago that wanted me to fit the trim. I reckon it took half a day to fit with lining it all up, measuring bits, making sure it's straight, and finally drilling the holes:(

    Sell it to the earlybay lot, you'll make a fortune;)
