I know it's been covered, but I'm very keen on doing a Scooby conversion. Is that better?

wont ac use more fuel thou

  2. Would only use it when really needed, and modern AC uses far less power.

I have been trying to find out more info about the air con systems retrofitted to American buses, but haven't found anything yet?

Could you not use the aircon compressor etc from the Subaru engine? Might need some custom pipes and unsure if there is a seperate rad that would need locating.

  4. That's the plan, and the condenser is already under the van..... The evaporator is built into the under dash panel, so the ideal place for the heater matrix would be there. I guess it will all come clear when Tango bus arrives, but I'm trying to get ahead of the game!

This is what I have in the Tango bus....

  14. As anyone matched a 091 gearbox with the RJES bellhousing, any mods required?

  15. Just a straight swap
    :)

  16. Cool :) thought there was an issue with the box / input shaft being longer. Happy days!

  17. I got fed up with trying to fit/weld poor fitting new panels to my bus so decided to have a break and look at something new so I got the Subaru engine out and sorted a work bench to put it on, I assembled the bench big enough to hold the 091 gearbox as well..

I needed to lift the engine up onto the bench on my own so fashioned a gantry from what I had and used a rachet strap to lift it inch by inch..

I have talked to Richard from RJES and have a clutch and bell housing on order..

I removed the power steering pump and the air condition pump from the engine.. I'm thinking that I'll not need these, I removed the clutch as well.

All in all a good day :)
