hope things work out ok soon for you , nerves are weird things and can cause unexplained reactions in places that are no where near the cause , and alot of doctors dont even understand , glad yours has been diagnosed properly . Good luck
You're in good company Ayrton Senna suffered from it in 1985. http://www.institutequarterly.com/IQ-ISSUE02-article-03.html
A mate of mine had it years ago. Took him about 9 months to get back to normal, but he was fine in the end. Also read some interesting articles on the BBC by one of their reporters who suffered from it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-20123449 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-24802323 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-24806986
It was about twenty years ago I had a Bells palsey.. Very scary at the time. The first doctor I saw sent me away with a "You'll get over it attitude".. I felt a second opinion was needed.. The second doctor prescribed enormus amounts of steroids. (12 the first day, 11 the next, 10 the next etc ) It took me about four weeks to recover. Look after yourself.. Get well soon.
Cheers for all the well wishes and tips folks...seems it is pretty common then! Yep, I'm on 12 a day for a week, then reduce by 2 a day till end...I'm rattling when I walk lol Good to hear you made a full recovery dude
Keep us posted.... and a speedy recovery...Good excuse for a big self-indulgent treat when you're back on form....
I bloody we'll told you about pulling that silly face when ******ing down the end of your workshop that if the wind changed you'd stay like it. Crikey hope you get better soon, bet that was scary. Lisa's friend had the same when she had a baby and I know a builder who had the same when he got hit on the side of the head by a heavy lorry drop side but they are both ok. so hopefully you'll be right as rain soon. Are you going to still keep working? If you need a cuddle give us a shout Love rob x
Lol...it is another thing i'm blaming on giving up smoking! Although it was nice not having to go outside for a roll up every half hour at the hospital.. Thanks for the generous offer Rob I'll be back to the grindstone in the morning, I'm bored already lol
The bloke in the unit two down from me had it last year, we thought he was having a stroke, he had a banging headache over night and then loss of feeling in one side of his face. He spent a week in a stroke ward before the bell's diagnosis. He hasn't fully recovered yet, although i don't mean to worry you, because it's a very small percentage of people who don't and he's a lazy sod who doesn't do his physio exercises you can hardly tell now though, at first it looked like he'd had half his face botoxed As he said when he found out it wasn't a stroke, much, much better than the alternative.
