Just been and bought my curtain fabric, also ordered the magnets this morning, fingers firmly crossed they arrive in time

 

I used magnets in mine, and being a typical bloke, opted for blokey strength magnets....big mistake! On the plus side, my van is now immune to the effects of solar storms as it has it's own atmospheric field....trouble is I can only drive in a northly direction, and stir tea clockwise

 

What magnets did you use?

The first lot I got were way too small so I've gone for something manlier this time. Now you've got me worried they'll be too strong

 

neodymium magnets off fleabay...they're a bit smaller than a new 5 p.....surprisingly strong

I've got a set of magnets in the curtains that Delilah's made for me. They're only about half the diameter of a 5p piece, and they do the job perfectly well. Maybe this is the appropriate size you're looking for?

 

I was going to say don't worry.....depends what type of curtains you're going for.....if your thinking of full magnetic covers around the windows they'll be fine......great in fact....but mine are on the traditional silent gliss sliding track and I'm also quite OCD, so when the magnets in the hem stick together, and the pleats are in the wrong place, I become a 'serial pleater'

Just a quick reminder (hence the title edit) if anyone can bring a few logs it all helps, i will bring some but not as much as usual - thanks.

 

I'm going for magnets only as a don't want to drill lots of holes to fit rails and I prefer not to have them out all the time

 

Are yours held up by just the magnets or with rails at the top too?

Maybe I should order some smaller ones aswell

 

The missus has told me that I'm not required as much as I thought I was so I'll be heading up Friday afternoon instead on Saturday morning.

And a bit of luck. Completely forgot to go to the local market on Saturday to buy some discount (i.e. stolen, probably) tools. Then went round to my parents' on Sunday for lunch, was rooting around one of my old wardrobes for some Lego (of all things) and found a pristine tool set that my Dad used to keep in his taxi.
