Although we’ve not been in a supermarket for over a week I’ve been told that beer supplies don’t take precedence so are running low and the big breweries are shut down. Our local pub are delivering what they have in until it’s all gone. However...... Hook Norton Brewery are still brewing beer to bottle to keep the yeast going, and are delivering Also, @Barry Haynes Fullers are doing deliveries too
I believe there are tankers full of London Pride heading up the motorway to support our less-fortunate friends in the North
I read, Brew Dog have turned some of their production over to making alcohol for hand sanitizer. What good is that when you could murder a beer?
A local distillery round here has started selling 70% alcohol hand sanitizer.. it looks like gin, smells like gin, and comes in a bottle that looks like a miniature gin bottle.... I have managed to resist the temptation to drink it so far..
I work at one of the larger breweries and we are classed by the government as an essential business. We’re down on manning by around 30% on the shop floor as work sent anyone over 60 or with any health conditions home for 3 months (on full pay). Kegs mothballed for obvious reasons, but canning and bottle demand is up around 80%. Most kegs don’t have a long sell by date, so most of this will go down the drain if the pubs don’t open by July...keg is 2/3rds of our profit and the current can demand is just about covering wages. This is the on site warehouse. The NDC is 20 times the size
Agreed, I quite like Punk IPA, but you can keep all the weird hipster flavoured stuff. I've tried both of their non-alcoholic ones - Punk AF and Nanny State... not bad, but I'd rather have a cup of tea. Our local brewery is bottling everything now for take out pre-orders. Not sure if they're still doing their draught in 4 pint milk containers though. I have to say, this has all come at a very inconvenient time - their seasonal spring beer 'Apple Blossom' is my favourite... if I can't have some this year, I may cry. I saw the other day that the local Gin distillery is also making hand sanitiser. It's a really nice thought, but I hope they're still making blinkin' gin too
