Bloody thing. Won’t budge a mm! egr tube in one of the heads, the other 2 have come out no problem but this one is just twisting at the top of the shaft and it’s in the verge of shearing off . I’ve heated it, wd40’d it, hit it with a hammer, tried using the collar to knock it with a chisel, everything. I’ve even sworn at it once, which gave it something to think about but it decided giving up was for losers. So, any bright ideas? Or anyone know of a 16mm internal threaded stop cap so I can just cap it off instead? Google isn’t overly helpful! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
At work we use a can of stuff that freezes nuts and bolts. Not sure of the name but readily available. Works when wd40 doesn’t. Or soak overnight with Coca-Cola.
If it's a steel pipe in an ally head, I'd imagine it's well stuck in. You may trash the head getting it out. Better to just cap it off.
Will try all that, cheers. I’ve got some freezing spray somewhere so we’ll dig that out. Think @davidoft might have the winning bid on this one . I can’t weld for toffee!
Find a welder that likes toffee ...best doing that ....that will never come out without damaging the head .
The true animal would cut the tube off just below where it is flared, fill the end of the tube with some exhaust paste, crush the end of the tube and fold it over to seal it. An ugly no weld solution..
