Hi all Picked up my exchange starter... But how do you get the old Bush out? Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
/\ that will be why your starter was slow then! As snotty says, find a tap that will screw in to it snugly, can't remember if it's m10 or m12. Then put a pair of mole grips on the tap and withdraw. To put the new one in, thread a nut down an m10 bolt, slip the bush over the end, and then get it lined up in the hole in the bell housing and tap it in.
Bush def not in the best of shape, but could've been the motor. I've had starters where some of the windings have gone open circuit. They lollop, then give up.
Give the new bush a coating of oil ...it actually absorbs it ..it's the only lubrication it's ever going to get
Cheers once again Snotty M12 tap worked a treat your a mine of information New starter is on and bus fired up first turn of the key :-D Just gorra sort out it ticking over once the choke knocks off. Job for tomorrow but she's getting there. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
