@Poptop2 From a local comedian..! Roll up roll up to the world's greatest sh*tshow! Ladies and gentlemen I present for your pleasure an absolute shambles of a horsebox. Its not only an MOT failure it's a scrap job - make no mistake about it. I'm selling it as a whole for someone to break. I don't really want to break it myself - I'm too old and too tired for that crap. It's a Marlborough Sport 1997 diesel - in its heyday it would have been quite the smart girl about town. Let us examine the situation in more detail in three categories: The WTF category: Firstly and most importantly this cannot be repaired, please do not buy thinking old uncle Tony has a welder in his garage and may be willing to weld well in to his retirement in return for Rich Tea biscuits, it's not going to happen. This spent a long time parked on wet bark at one point in it's past, it's taken its toll and the chassis under the rear tack area is rotten. As parts have been investigated for repair and the metal chased back to the sounder horse area more problems have been found and made unstable and so now there is nothing to weld to, in this situation you literally cannot polish a turd or even for that matter roll it in glitter. A part was removed and could not be replaced so it's NOT driveable this was a metal box and king pin above a rear wheel, the horsebox will move lopsidedly to get it on to a recovery vehicle but is not in any way safe to drive. This is a recovery truck job. Should you wish to attempt to drive it away I will ask to take a photo of your ID, ask you to sign a bunch of disclaimer paperwork and will be requiring you to hand over your first born child (I'm joking about the child..... but I could use a leadrein jockey so donations considered) If you attempt to drive it completely illegally and against my advice I will of course put the kettle on when you are back at my door saying that it exploded in a shower of cogs and springs at the end of the road. If you are looking for spare parts there are plenty on offer but let me warn you that every single light lens on this vehicle (so sought after) shows the scars of years of 'oh sh*t' moments and they are all only fit for the bin. I do however have a completely unused new rear light lens (still boxed!) That I'll throw in - the fact this is for a left hand drive vehicle so utterly useless is neither here nor there (damn you eBay!) So with no further ado let's hear some better news. The 'well what IS good Tasha?' category: The engine would appear to be fine, it starts first time every time, has never let me down and albeit a little old and noisy it's not so bad that you couldn't accurately follow a recipe for mince pies if it was shouted out to you. The ramp frame is good but when transferred to another vehicle will without a doubt need a new wood insert, this coped with my 12.2 pony happily but does bow if I walk up it. Rude. I feel the need to repeat about the light lenses, mine are no good to you, yes I know they're damn impossible to find and that you've rung every scrap merchants in the greater London area and cried in to your wheatabix but this ain't your day. The lower ramp frame (wood easily replaced), upper ramp flip up door, partition, wheels, windows, windscreen, side windows, battery, dashboard gauges are all good. The cab and rear doors would be ok with a bit of work at the bottoms. The bit that separates the horses from the tack area is in good nick, it has good condition stokboard on and has two small access doors. Rubber mats and kickboards all good. There is one good skylight. If you are lucky I'll throw in the rigid plastic and gaffer tape that makes the other one watertight. The CD player works but forgive me if I accidently forget to remove the damn Disney Princess singalong CD from it The speakers are however an utter disgrace, you'd hear music better if it was played in a following vehicle. There is a reserving camera set up but it's old and unless you use it in conjunction with a couple of arena lights it no longer stands up as a credible piece of equipment but it would have been expensive back in the day so could be rifled for parts to mend a similar elderly one The box was in use a good two or three times a week until it's arse dropped out so it's not been stood seizing up like a pair of old ladies knees. The engine copes with long and short journeys happily and the gears have been smooth and easy to use. The summing up category: Selling for breaking Recovery truck job Look elsewhere for light lenses Leave uncle Tony to enjoy retirement No daydreamers - I loved this box, I have left no stone unturned in trying to save it. Don't think that with some blu tack and a lot of unicorn glitter you can get this back on the road. Location: Towcester. Don't waste my time asking where that is, if you aren't capable of using Google maps you have no business removing an undriveable vehicle from my driveway.
Its not a horsebox - its some form of box mounted on something dreadful like a Renault Traffic of Fiat Ducatto - though as it mentions chassis rot (and they tend to use aluminium chassis on coach built campers) it might be something heavier again?
I think the OP is vaguely referring to my superior LT. I believe jealousy is the correct term 5 ton of pure luxury
