I had that problem yesterday as well! took it back to Halfords for an exchange. They have a lot of kids running them now don’t they anyway the dope gave me a new two year warranty so not complaining.
Oh wow! How did it go? We are planing a trip in September London to Barcelona in our new baby, T2 1977, bit nervous but so exited! Any advice you could offer? thanks!

Roughly, just an estimate like, not exactly you understand just a ball park figure..........how many pairs of bright coloured sunglasses do you have??
You probably forgot to fit the temperature sensor to the leisure battery and then it tried to charge at over 40 degrees C. Your charger should have shut off. Basically a lead acid battery can go stinky and hot and die if you try to charge it on hot days.
Really we should all use Halfords HFF203 metal filters. Fireproof and pretty indestructible. I only use plastic toys like the JK ones on my 3.5HP outboard motor.
