they are not too bad. We used to use them on the low lying oak tree branches in Florida, The ground guys can reach those. Would save the climbers a lot of time. .The best ones are the stihl. Of course . The secret is to use the fine pico chains, but you must make sure they are sharp . Use a 4mm file. And like anything you cannot stand under them. Buy a pricey Stihl and sell it on . Super expensive but It would be less costly and moe efficent than than buying a piece of junk you only use once and then sits in the shed for the rest of your life .or worse you have to lend it to anyone who knows you have one and it comes back broken.. but once again the quality is very expensive I can only imagine what aldi has.. Don't be stupid, wear glasses, wear gloves and wear a helmet. . End of my story
Stihl is probably the best, but at a cost. I have a Hyundai like this: https://www.lawnandpower.co.uk/prod...zm1gxcOMtnTw4nWW3Yj5nlwiKlDQVvG0aAi9kEALw_wcB It’s about 3 years old and used many times for oak and pine branches up to about 3”. The hedge trimmer attachment works well too, never used the strimmer - I use the Stihl.
I have this one from Screwfix https://www.screwfix.com/p/titan-ttl488gdo-25cc-bent-shaft-petrol-2-in-1-grass-hedge-trimmer/63778 and I bought the little chainsaw attachment that goes with it. It works well, though I haven’t tried the strimmer yet.
At some point his heads coming off Next door was talking about making one. I asked if he had made a will
A good one is good that's what I have, as for the low cost ones I suspect you are in buy cheap buy twice territory.
I have one of these. I had a Stihl long reach hedge cutter and it went walkabout!! Must admit for the money it's a cracking bit of kit. Much better than I expected and it does get used quite a bit.
