I cleaned the inside of the wiper motor today too.

It wasn't working, then I got it working, then it didn't work so, I investigated..

    Not the best result...

Apparently the armature above is like that as it has been weighted in the factory, according to the local auto electrician ( Who is very good ) I popped that bit into him today to pick his brain. He's putting new bushes in the motor and told me the problem is with the wiper spindle that I freed up yesterday. I have to free it up to the pooint it moves freely with my fingers. It was slightly stiff with a spanner on it earlier, but I am getting there now after 2 hours and lots of 3 in 1 spray.

I took the whole assembly off and then sprayed it and turned it lots of turns with a spanner, then I did that again, and again and now it's a fair bit easier to move, not quite finger movable - just nearly.

One of the engine mounts must be going. I am guessing that is the cause of the occasional clutch judder!

  9. Some are electrically stiffened...

It's a diesel night heater mate. Like a propex, but it runs on diesel. They are very good. That one may be a bit too good actually. 5 kilowatt is a lot for a small van. 2k is probably the right size, but I do have a thermostat to keep it regulated.
