I think it's doing 90 miles a day on country roads in a micra that's doing it Through necessity to be honest Malcolm I swear every time I go out someone is trying to right me off Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I find drivers baffling nowadays. They hit junctions too fast, have no idea of lane discipline, do not indicate clearly or concisely at roundabouts and are too aggressive. Roll on retirement.
I drove for a living Taxi in Newmarket or Private Hire airports and the like Do I still enjoy driving? I love it and adore it even more at the wheel of Tilly, did Joe Bonamassa up loud yes please
I cycle about 50 miles a week, drive about 50 in the bus. I like to drive when it's clear roads with no real traffic, and few junctions. I also like to sit on the (clear) motorway at 50/60 on a long run up north or Wales and back. I never get back issues cos of the seat shape, sitting over the axle is good. A driving machine it is, the basic system. But I can't bear traffic, since I'm a bit ADD, so in London I prefer my bike
I live in rural Australia, not driving isn't an option when it's a 100 Km round trip to the shops. Yes, I do enjoy driving.
I've always loved driving, and as I work shifts my 100 mile round trip commute never involves traffic, schools, other stress heads, LBC on the radio or streaming some Spotify and I'm good to go - got caught out the other day as forgot about 'traffic' being an issue when trying to go for a hospital appointment. I dont think the inner boy racer in me will ever die though, as I still like to do hot runs usually at about 4 in the morning if the traffic lights are all shining green!
I've lost count of the number of times I've nearly smacked the back end of some numpty that has treated an empty roundabout as a stop sign........ or pulled up giving way to traffic from the right the driver of which just stares back at you with empty eyes and does not move....
Hate it ,lucky mrs lef likes driving.. I like getting in a old vehicle and setting off for an adventure ,a bit different to the daily slog... I feel trapped in the car... probably why I have a 12km work limit...
Its the reason i bought my doka, hired a van and realised i enjoyed the pottering along in the van more than the camping side of it - my other car will do 90 mph if i need it and its got airbags, the van lets me enjoy the whole back to basics driving experience
