FOR SALE Sold

  1. Have up for sale my MGB GT, red, manual with overdrive, 1800cc. 80k mileage and rising with use. Loads completed in it by previous owner, mini restoration, resprayed, new sunroof and interior trim. New carpets, drivers seat reupholstered, fresh MOT in May 16, two new tyres, thermostats and pipe work replaced. Runs a dream and drives like it should. Overdrive works great and is very handy at high speeds. New wing mirrors also fitted. Also have a set of Rostyle og wheels that I'm having stripped so can throw these in too.
I love this wee motor but I need the cash to complete a couple of bits on my bus and also to help fund new project of an early beetle.
Located near Stansted in Essex. To view or for any further info on me.
    Cheers,
    Lardy.

  7. It will be snapped up at this price and make someone very happy. Had my midget since May and can't decide which I like to drive the most (bus or mg!), both put a smile on my face. MGB's roadsters chrome bumper are fetching a lot of money and will soon be outside peoples reach so the plastic bumper models could be sort after!. Good luck with the resto. Was at The Retro vw show in Suffolk last weekend where there was a v8 beetle (engine at the front with extended box section).

  8. Chrome roadsters are fetching £10 to 12k if they are in excellent condition. Rubber bumper versions are worth around 25% less so around £8k for a perfect one. GTs fetch a lot less than a roadster - friend of mine paid £8k for an immaculate one earlier this year which was bit over the odds. Rubber GTs will struggle to make £3500 unless they are show condition. (I am sec. of local MG club)
Good luck with your sale @Lardy

  9. That's quite a drop from £8k for a rubber bumper roadster to £3500 for a GT or have I misunderstood? I've seen this one in the flesh before he polished it and its a nice solid and well sorted car.

  10. No that's correct -but a rubber roaster would have to be exceptional to get £8k - I have seen really nice rubber GTs go for silly money (around £2k) - so they are a good buy at the moment - but are likely to go up in value as they become tax free.

  11. Thanks @IZZYBAY, I know exactly what you mean, when I've got the roof back it's awesome!!
Thanks for complimenting my car @Cheesy Wotsit, had a few people come to look now.
Maybe you could buy it haha??
@cunny44, prices are all over the place down here, an MG mechanic down this way has told me I'm not asking enough but as I told him, it's only what people are prepared to pay which is why I've advertised it at that price. Plenty on car and classic, eBay and auto trader looking for more than what I'm looking for.
Like I say and we all know, I'm only going to get what someone's prepared to pay so I'm happy that if it doesn't sell at that price bearing in mind it costs me pretty much nothing I'll keep it another year or two til it's tax free.
Thanks for the advice though buddy
