Forsale a set of genuine accesory ambulance fans. These are all tested and working and come with the wiring loom and the dash switch. These fans help clear the windscreen in the winter and give you extra air movement in the cab in the warmer months. Price £235 with the white covers Or Price £225 without the covers drill the hole in your own covers to save painting
Point taken. I've changed the decription . These only blow air from the front air intakes. Thanks for pointing that out guys.
Are they worth £225 I may have a pair for sale too if that's the case I can open the window to circulate more air around the cab.
They are for demisting the windscreen rather than defrosting it, 'ambulance fans' is something of a misnomer that has stuck and become the common term, as they were fitted stock to the ambulance according to the Samba. I have a factory fitted set and wouldnt be without them (this is my third bay in 23 years, first two didn't have them). Was caught in a massive storm and floods in Belgium on the motorway last year, windows misted up rapidly, and the cold air fans cleared it in seconds.
I've also had these in my last two kombis over the 16 years and they are handy at clearing the condensation in the morning. Also when sat in traffic getting the air flow helps with the lack of any air con in the Australian climate, proberly the least used feature in the Uk
I have a set fitted , but they blow out the round vents in the end of the dash only ? Ratwell also says for windscreen ..unless I`m missing something ?
They direct the bulk of the air to the windscreen on mine (as long as the blue lever is down. With the front fresh air intake closed they obviously do nothing much at all). Not with my bus till weekend, so honestly can't remember if mine blow much out of the round vents, it would be minimal as the easiest air path is to the windscreen, ideally with the round vents closed - gotta have "all mod cons" and all that on your bus
Anyway, back on topic, £235 for a complete set sounds OK to me, typically complete sets with the original hard to find switch, covers and loom in good working order, on the Samba go for €300 / $300 and up mark, plus international shipping, so with the pound now on its ar*e these are a bargain!
The fresh air supply from the front air box (when blue lever is down) goes to the circular dash vents and the long thin slot windscreen vents. Hot air from noisy cupboard feeds to the footwell from totem pole and to the two main top of dash outlets. So yes in theory the fans blow more cold air onto the windscreen Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
