The outpouring of grief is now making me laugh. I never realised that a lot of my mates were closet hand-wringing petulant kids, who kick off if they don't get their way. It appears they are!

Why is the Chancellor of the exchequer hiding? He's been very quiet, perhaps the silly sod still thinks he can be PM one day and is trying to distance himself from the loosing side?

  3. possibly ... he'll have to go some to beat Teresa May, although she did come out on the in side she's been very good at hiding through out the campaigns ... wonder what her motive was.

I stated that the lack of science or reasearch carried out by both sides, and by voters was appalling.....in or out I maintained that view. It is what it is, but people should stand by their decision.

The reality is both sides at the extreme doggedly claimed xyz....the reality is a massive majority sat in the middle with their vote and were easily swayed.

Now we'll see that both extreme views are unable to deliver on their rhetoric...leaving many to conclude they've been either duped or robbed.

Of course there will be anger.

I'd prefer Boris. They would like to choose Boris, he had the guts to go out on a limb. But he set himself against everyone which must now be tricky. Teresa May was on the "correct" side and will be more acceptable in Tory circles, but I think much less electable. Boris can be disarming if required whatever one thinks of him.
    They'll need the 3 months.

Ordinarily I'd agree with you on Boris, but moving into a time of uncertainty you need s measured hand not a sound bite puppet.

I do think it's time now to come together and move....we'll now see who's who in the zoo...

A large quota of my friends are doing a good impression of disappointed parents and the others it seems are still sobbing in a corner. One said she felt like some one she knew had died; and another, to quote: "If I find out that anyone on my 'friends' list was retarded enough to vote 'Leave' then they are history." These are people that up until yesterday seemed quite normal and level headed! I'm more stunned by the reaction of people I know than the result.
The vote is counted and life goes on.

Sound bite puppet is more likely to win a national election though? Being in power is all and the PM is just a figurehead, not a dictator. e.g. Cameron's been told to take one for the team to buy the Tories 3 months to make preparations for brexit.

A national election is a way off, he'll fight for leadership of the Tories first.

You think the Tories disregard national election chances when choosing a leader? Surely that's what it's all about?

  12. I'm not sure it matters who leads the party, the problem the conservatives have is a big split down the middle, if you watch the news and listen to some of their MPs they are almost as bitter as the people some of us know in real life or on Facebook. There again the labour party is no better at this point, they are going to have a civil war also. As long as whoever leads surrounds themselves with capable cabinet members as opposed to just yes men then that will be a step in the right direction. Whether that happens remains to be seen. As regards the next election that's someway off so is probably secondary to getting through the next couple of years. If the person who does that is seen to do a good job (and the electorate remember this is a long term project) then there is no reason for another government led by the same person.

I see 500,000 people have registered their dislike on a web petition. Were all those people eligible to vote, did they vote, plenty of things to consider.

  14. I Think the government should resign and a government of national unity formed to lead us through this momentous period in our history. I cant see it working any other way. As long as it ends up with a general election at the end then all is good. We wont get the best for our country witH a half arsed approach to this.

  15. I've been on working committees with Boris and he is a very clever guy, he does something that a lot of politicians don't do and that is listen.
He also has a very annoying habit of asking the one question you don't want asked.

  16. Don't Nigel and Boris want that also?

  17. What about if we had a new party comprising of all the leave politicians regardless of the party they currently belong too (except Nigel) to run the country through the transition

  18. Non elected, at least by the citizenry, and self serving comes to mind. Maybe I'm cynical but who decides when their raison d'etre is over or would it require a Revolution to throw them out.

  19. Thanks but no thanks. I see where your going with that but it would be the lunatics taking over the asylum!
