  1. Hi all,

I've had my 1972 bay for a little while now and have spent a lot of time taking it back to bit of shell and to work out what has been done in its past!

1972 Bay with a Pug 405 1.9TD engine, the predecessor who decided to introduce this engine also had the wise idea to instal the remaining elements of the 405 across the rest of the van, like the dashboard!

Whilst its a little quirky on the inside the work done has held up well and with the exception of a little rust to the front the van is solid underneath. I'm hoping that some tlc and time on the inside/outside will help restore him to some former glory.

Its a cosy fit in the engine bay and with an enlarged hatch on the lid and rear access working on the engine is easy than on the original car.

Just curious if anyone else has a bizarre set up like this? hoping to share some more of Reggie's story to help others as The Late Bay has been helpful to me so far.

  6. That's the one, a real mongrel of a bus but runs well one the motorway and very little rust, just needs some tlc.

  7. Where are you now?

  10. And then there were three!

Can't say there's anything unusual in the set-up of my bus so I can't help with your original query, but I'd love to see more piccies of your bus... truly a one-off!

  11. That dash looks amazing. I've also got a 72 and it has a Subaru conversion but that is not at all a rarity these days
