Daisy's 1968 deluxe beetle full restoration

Not much done today due to the weather again
Prepped all floor pans on top ready for paint and gave all the welds a quick blast over with stone chip as ran out fitted beam with all new bolts (the old ones was well gone ) and started fitting bearings to new discs ready to for when Ben rear bearing seals arrive this week allso painted disc backing plates and stripped old tie rods out (they was rusted solid ) stripped and primered both rods and that's it now untill delivery comes next few days to paint pans and under neath and start building up the chassis running brake lines ect





Not much to show but it's the few hours put it on days like this make it all come together !!

 

Did you clean one up with brown sauce?

 

Ha ha if u look u can see @davidoft just finishing his full breakfast

 

Found a 1500cc engine local to me out a split and beetle should be 1500cc gonna show me it running so may have a new engine tonight

 

I've just eaten my last after eight ​

 

She does feed us up Mrs Daisy just had a big roast ......

 

Pan looks nice and solid now.
If you continue at this rate you'll have the shell done in no time.

 

Was quite suprised actually how solid it is with the cheap pans but it's solid

 

Just purchased a 1500cc engine from a chap down the road seen it runnin few bits missing but Iv got em off my old engine I think ,it's out his split he is restoring with Subaru power !! No endfloat at all

So when can I come and help and be fed looking good just remember to rub them pans down well as the paint on them is craaaap

 

I can see where Iv Gone to metal in places rubbing them down and u can allways help any day u tell me Mrs Daisy feeds well and offers a good roast

 

Nice coat of stone chip on the floor pan and tunnel still awaiting parts to crack on but the new engine is off to the powder coaters

It astounds me how you get so much done if David is only having breakfast at 4:11pm ?
