A couple pics of mine..bought from the original owner nearly 10 years ago - been everywhere in it, drives like a new bus now tucked up for a rest
Hi guys! I'm loving the pics of your Westys! So, here's mine. She's a Jan '72. Now, somebody on The Samba said it looks like a deluxe with a Westy cabinet job. I'm not disagreeing and there's no history with this van except what the PO told me. Arrived in LA in '72, then an unknown few decades, ended up in Idaho (confirmed by the DMV and I found Idaho plates in the cabinet) now it's here with me in central Utah. She's dry dry dry, so maybe she spent a bunch of time in California upon arrival. It sure seems so to me. This pic was after I had cut the paint a LOT! Because she looked like this when I picked her up....
Here's mine: 1977 US Westfalia Campmobil. Red9 Design suspension in the front, Konis in the back, original 16 inch Fuchs, Toyo tires. Drives like a dream! Aircooled greetz, Humby
@Humby - i love your bus is it the red9 wishbone kit you have? what tyre sizes do you run on those fuchs?
Oh mate, it's a real mess under mine. I took it off before TE to stick some air in the tyre & there are more screws in the wheel mounting plate than at our local Screwfix warehouse! Plus the tyre letters & numbers are reverse printed into the paint and the filler is starting to crack out of the pick-up shaped dint it hides It will come off (Mrs Monkey already has the badge ), when I can no longer stand the cracking but I'm on the quest for the perfect spare carrying solution...
